You may e-mail me if you need more information.

I started this page to provide information on my hometown to friends and colleagues who are interested to visit Melaka.

Many times I have been asked to recommend restaurants and accommodations in Melaka.  I always have problems providing the telephone no. or map as I don't know how to get them for these potential visitors.

Now when I visited a restaurant in Melaka, I will collect its name cards and brochures. These info will be posted on this page. I will even share with you the specialties of the restaurant.

I will also try to get some of the local nice hotels info and post them here.

So, if you want to know where to go and what to eat in Melaka, feel free to check out this page.

Makko Nyonya Restaurant

My family and I had the pleasure of dining in Makko Nyonya Restaurant last Saturday.  This restaurant served authentic Nyonya or Peranakan (Straits Chinese) food.

Nyonya food, also referred to as Straits Chinese food, is an an exotic blend of Chinese and Malay savoury cuisines thought to have originated from the Peranakan of Malacca over 400 years ago. This was the result of inter-marriages between Chinese immigrants and local Malays, which produced a unique culture. Here, the ladies are called Nyonyas and the men Babas.

We had a wonderful time enjoying the Pongteh Chicken, Lemak Ikan Asin with Pineapple, Assam Fish & Udang Gerang Assam served in Makko.

I highly recommend visitors who would like to taste the Straits Chinese cooking to check out this restaurant.
